Alternative Transportation Week
The
Alternative Transportation Challenge is an event in the
Lafayette community to encourage people to leave their cars
behind and find an alternate form of transportation for the
week. This event is held in conjunction with Green Week.
2009
We had about 80 people sign up this year, but the overall
alternative transportation show and bike tune ups were very
successful.
2008
We had about 500 people participate!
Participation
in the Alternative Transportation challenge resulted in
total emissions aversion of 1130 kg C, or 3.14 kg C per
individual. Were these changes implemented over a full
year, the 360 individuals participating could prevent 58.76
metric tons of carbon from being emitted into the
atmosphere.

2007
We had 253 people participate!
