Purdue Memorial Union Recycles

The following is a press release from the Purdue Memorial Union:

We wanted to proudly announce that PMU now fully recycles!
unknown

We've been recycling glass, office paper, newspaper, & cardboard for some time now. However, with the recent purchase of a large recycling collection container placed in the loading dock area as well as collection bins on the ground floor (Union Commons)- we now are recycling even more!

All areas are encouraged to communicate to their respective staff members the need to recycle. We now have recycling opportunities for plastic, steel cans, aluminum cans, newspaper, office paper, glass & cardboard. If you use any of these materials in your area- please join in on the effort to recycle.

Food Venues/Catering Areas: Please collect your recycled materials, rinse and clean and remove labels as needed (plastic bottles, glass jars/bottles and steel cans) and deposit them in the black roll-off collection bin in the loading dock. You will see that the glass and plastic can be mixed as well as the steel and aluminum. Our recycler will separate them at the collection site on their location.

Offices: if you wish to begin recycling these materials in your offices, you will be responsible for obtaining and labeling the collection bins (boxes work) and the house crew will be happy to dispose of the recycling for you. Please let me know your office plans.

Spread the word! PMU RECYCLES!  Thanks to everyone in advance for their cooperation. Also thanks to those whose efforts brought recycling to the Union!
