About Stormwater
Stormwater is excess runoff generated during storm events. This water can cause problems in urban environments such as contamination of rivers, flooding, and combined sewage overflow. The impact of stormwater can be reduced through the use of rain gardens, permeable pavement, and green roofs.
Some of the goals for the committee this year will be to participate in all of our usual community events including De-Trash the Wabash, The Sampling Blitz (both fall and spring), and the Fish Sampling Blitz. The underlying theme of this years operations will to raising awareness at all levels. Stormwater do some events on campus to raise awareness among my peers as well as come events in the community that target home and business owners. Lastly, this year Stormwater will fight really hard to get our rain garden designs completed, approved and implemented by May 2012.
