2008/07/29 Minutes July 29, 2008 1. T-Shirts are Ordered They say 'Boiler Green Initiative' in front (in white) and still in white 'IT'S NOT EASY BEING GREEN... BUT WE TRY' and on the next line www.boilergreen.com ' all this is on the back. 2. Stadium Recycling We are working on places to get volunteers from besides the club, because of the high number of volunteers we need per game. We are looking at various organizations that have their members do community service/volunteer hours. As long as Purdue approves having non-Purdue Students as volunteers, then we should be able to recruit enough people. We also need 4-5 volunteers sometime this summer (the dates and times are not set yet) to help paint the A-Frames that will be put on the intramural fields for trash/recycling bags. 3. Alternative Transportation Week: We are working on how to distribute bike racks. We are also interested in ways to get the cycling club involved. 4. Composting Terry, from grounds and sustainability is speaking with administration about working with the dinning halls and Purdue Campus to re-introduce composting of the food waste. He is also posting the idea of being a trayless school. This would mean that the dinning courts would no longer use trays. This uses less water and students tend to get less food, thus reducing the food waste.
